Two days National Conference on Education, Employability and Entrepreneurship held

Two days National Conference on Education, Employability and Entrepreneurship (NATCEEE-2019), organized by Santal Engineers Welfare Association (SEA), a professional society of graduate engineers, technologists, scientists, IT-experts, entrepreneurs, and academia from Pan India and abroad belonging to tribals, was inaugurated on 28th December 2019 at NALCO Auditorium Bhubaneswar, by Shri Sudam Marndi, Honourable Minister of Revenue and Disaster Management. Prof Dr L.R. Murmu, AIIMS, New Delhi graced the occasion as the Guests of Honour. Shri Sudarsan Hembram, Chairman Organizing committee delivered the welcome address. Shri Dayanidhi Marandi, President Santal Engineers Welfare Association, highlighted the importance of education and updated skill development and entrepreneurship among tribal population for sustainable development. He said that in order to work out realistic action plans to alleviate problems faced by tribals, there is a need to set up a Center of Excellence that will focus on guiding tribal youths for excellence in academics, skill them for employability and encourage and hand hold them for entrepreneurship. Shri Sudam Marndi stressed the role of Engineers and associations like Santal Engineers Welfare Association (SEA) in guiding, facilitating and shaping the career prospects of tribal youths and consequently to the economic development of the tribals and the nation. He hoped that the two days of deliberations should come up with some concrete recommendations on the theme for the policy makers of the country. Notable achievers of the tribal society, notably, Ms Dagarmanu Tudu, Singer and Actress, Ms Sikha Mandi, Radio Jockey, Ms. Sondhyni Murmu, Student with Academic Excellence, Mr. Kandan Murmu, Judo Coach & Referee, and Mr. Kalicharan Hembram, Sahitya Academy Award winner for 2019 for Santali literature, were felicitated on the occasion. Dr. Laxmidhar Besra, Convenor, delivered the Vote of thanks.
