With aimed at improving economic conditions of the tribal farming communities of Nabarangpur district Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) and KISS deemed to be University hasl aunched a massive intervention for increasing aquaculture production other plantation activitiesIn the village of Boxaguda on Sunday.ILS 22
Nabarangpur district magistrate and collector Dr Ajit Kumar Mishra launched a massive intervention for increasing aquaculture production for more than 90 ponds today.Dr Mishra appreciated the efforts put by the institutes and hoped for the prosperity of the district.
This intervention is being undertaken with supported by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India and Rastriya Krishi Vikash Yojna (RKVY) and Government of Odisha.
Director, ILS Dr Ajay Parida mentioned that more interventions will be undertaken to improve the economic, health and nutrition status of the community.On this occasion, he also initiated a nutrition garden in a residential school at Jatabal.
Dr Rajeeb Swain and Mr Amitav Routray from ILS, Dr Rashmi Mohapatra from KISS and Ms. Sandya Rani Karmi, project coordinator are leading the programme. During the occasion, district fisheries officer Mr K. Marandi, horticulture expert Mr SV Ramanna and a large number of people from the local villages actively participated. Initially this is being undertaken in 2 cluster of villages involving 330 households.
